Washington Car Crashes

Lake Stevens, WA - Deadly Head-on Crash on SR-9 near Market PlaceTragic car accidents occur far too often in the United States. In 2022, over 40,000 lives were lost in traffic collisions nationwide, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). These crashes are often linked to avoidable behaviors, such as distracted driving, speeding, intoxication, or simply falling asleep at the wheel.

Negligent driving is a nationwide crisis, responsible for millions of accidents each year. Alarming statistics reveal that nearly 30% of all traffic-related deaths annually are tied to impaired driving. Staying sober and attentive behind the wheel isn’t just responsible — it’s essential to saving lives.

Washington State has not been immune to this troubling trend. In 2023, the state reported over 800 traffic-related fatalities, a 10% increase from the prior year. The vast majority of these deadly crashes stemmed from driver negligence — a factor that now contributes to four out of every five accidents across the U.S. In just one recent year, drunk driving alone claimed nearly 13,000 lives — that’s about one death every 39 minutes.

If you recently lost a family member in a crash caused by another driver’s reckless or negligent actions, you may have grounds to file a wrongful death claim. Compensation can help cover funeral expenses, medical bills, emotional suffering, and loss of future income, easing the financial burden during one of the hardest times of your life.
