Seattle, WA (April 22, 2025) - A single-vehicle crash turned fatal in Seattle on Saturday night, April 19. Police were called to the scene of the accident on 57th Avenue near Martin Luther King Way/State Route 900 at approximately 9:41 p.m. According to reports from authorities, a 2015 Infiniti Q50 operated by a 20-year-old Spanaway man was headed east on SR-900 when he lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway near the intersection with 57th Avenue South. The vehicle then came to rest on its side and appeared to have struck a tree before stopping.
Two passengers, a 17-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man from Redding, CA, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was transported to Valley Medical Center to be treated for injuries. Police are working to determine the cause of the crash. The highway was blocked for over four hours while responders worked at the scene, creating significant traffic delays.
We want to offer our sincere sympathies to the family members of the deceased victims.
Every year, thousands of car accidents occur across Washington, many of them leading to severe injuries and tragic loss of life. Intersections, in particular, are hotspots for collisions, as the combination of heavy traffic and driver misjudgments often results in devastating crashes. For those left behind, the consequences extend far beyond the scene of the accident—emotional devastation, financial burdens, and unanswered questions become daily realities.
The injuries resulting from car accidents can range from minor bruises to catastrophic trauma. Victims may suffer from broken bones, internal injuries, traumatic brain injuries, or long-term impairments that require ongoing care. For families, the physical toll is often matched by emotional pain and financial hardship, as medical bills pile up and the road to recovery stretches on indefinitely.
The unimaginable becomes even more difficult when a loved one is lost in a crash caused by another’s negligence. When careless or reckless driving leads to a fatal collision, families are left to pick up the pieces while grappling with grief and uncertainty. No one should have to face this alone.
