Whatcom Co., WA (July 8, 2025) – A vehicle accident on Interstate 5 near Bellingham sent two women from British Columbia to the hospital Saturday night, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The crash occurred near Nulle Road while the pair was traveling northbound. Authorities say the 62-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle for reasons still being investigated, then causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway to the left. The car rolled over and eventually came to rest in nearby brush.
Emergency crews transported the driver to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment. Her passenger, an 85-year-old woman, was more seriously injured and airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
WSP confirmed that impairment was not a factor in the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
