Cle Elum, WA (March 11, 2025) - A three-car crash in Cle Elum took one life on March 11. Responders were dispatched to the scene on Interstate 90 near milepost 81, shortly after the wreck occurred to render aid. A man from Lewiston lost his life due to the collision. He was identified as Gary Hartig, age 70.
The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he later lost his life. A passenger inside his vehicle was not hurt. Another involved driver, a 59-year-old Spokane Valley man, faces negligent driving charges in the second degree. Police in Cle Elum continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
