Seattle, WA - Eight Injured in Collision on Westlake Ave

Seattle, WA (March 3, 2025) - Eight people were transported to the hospital after a collision on Westlake Avenue North on Sunday morning, March 2. At approximately 2:10 a.m., an Acura Sedan was racing another vehicle headed south when it crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Ford Explorer head-on.

The Traffic Collision Investigation Squad reports the driver and passenger of the racing vehicle were trapped, and fire crews had to remove the roof of the vehicle to rescue them. The driver appeared to be impaired, police said. Three individuals involved in the collision were in critical condition, while five others were reported to be in stable condition, the Seattle Fire Department said. All eight injured victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center. Police in Seattle continue to investigate the collision.
