Washington Scooter Accidents

Motorized scooter accidents have become an increasingly concerning public safety issue across Washington State. As more people turn to scooters for quick, eco-friendly transportation, the number of severe—and often fatal—crashes has steadily risen. Tragically, many of these accidents are preventable.

In recent years, Washington has seen an uptick in fatalities involving scooters, especially in urban areas like Seattle, Tacoma, and Spokane, where busy streets, high-speed limits, and limited infrastructure create dangerous conditions for vulnerable riders. Just like with larger vehicles, reckless behaviors such as distracted driving, speeding, and impaired operation are often contributing factors in these collisions.

Lack of protective gear, particularly helmets, adds to the severity of injuries when accidents occur. When a scooter rider is involved in a crash, the chances of sustaining a life-threatening head injury or being fatally struck by a vehicle increase significantly.

If you’ve lost a loved one in a fatal scooter crash in Washington or you were injured while riding, you may be entitled to compensation for medical costs, funeral expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering. But getting the justice and financial recovery you deserve often requires skilled legal support, especially when insurance companies attempt to minimize your claim.
