Lakewood, WA - Man Hurt in Crash on I-5 near MP 124

Lakewood, WA (April 5, 2025) - A traffic accident occurred in Lakewood on Friday evening, March 4, that left one man with injuries. Reports from the Washington State Patrol show the wreck occurred on Interstate 5 near milepost 124 at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Two vehicles were traveling north on the interstate when one vehicle struck a barrier and was redirected into the roadway. It then collided with the second vehicle before fleeing the scene. The second vehicle came to rest on the left shoulder of the roadway, partially blocking the HOV lane. A 29-year-old man suffered injuries in the crash and was transported to Tacoma General Hospital by ambulance. The incident blocked the interstate for approximately 90 minutes, causing significant traffic delays. Police in Lakewood continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident.
