Bellevue, WA (May 4, 2025) – A tragic motorcycle accident in Bellevue claimed the life of an 18-year-old rider late Friday night.

On May 2, emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Northeast 8th Street and 116th Avenue Northeast around 9:40 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. Witnesses at the scene told authorities that the motorcyclist had been traveling at a high rate of speed before crashing into a westbound car that was crossing the intersection.

First responders with Bellevue Police and local fire crews arrived within minutes. Emergency medical teams performed CPR and other life-saving efforts on the teen motorcyclist. Despite their efforts, the young rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities say those injuries are not considered life-threatening.
