Shelton, WA (May 13, 2025) — A collision occurred in Shelton on the evening of May 14 that resulted in injuries and traffic delays. Reports show it occurred on State Route 3 near milepost 3.58, just outside the Shelton North City Limits.
The crash was reported earlier in the evening on Wednesday and caused delays in the area as emergency responders worked to assist those involved and restore the flow of traffic. By 9:52 p.m., WSDOT confirmed that the scene had been cleared, and vehicles were once again moving normally in both directions.
Authorities had not yet released information regarding the cause of the crash. Paramedics helped injured victims at the scene and transported those in need of extensive medical care to local hospitals for further evaluation and treatment. Drivers in the area had been advised to expect delays during the response. Police in Shelton continue to investigate the details of the crash.
We hope for the full recovery of the injured victims.
Car accidents remain one of the top causes of injury and death in the U.S., with over 6 million collisions reported each year. Sadly, many of these crashes stem from preventable causes, like distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, or simply falling asleep at the wheel.
Here in Washington State, the toll is severe. Each year, more than 700 people lose their lives on our roads, and thousands more suffer life-altering injuries. In cities like Renton, where traffic congestion and reckless behavior often go hand in hand, the risks are especially high. Speeding alone contributes to more than 30% of all collisions statewide.
If you or someone you care about has been hurt in a crash, you’re likely dealing with more than just the physical impact. Emergency care, follow-up treatment, and time away from work can pile up fast, creating a financial burden that can be overwhelming. On average, the cost of injury care from a motor vehicle crash can soar into the tens of thousands of dollars, particularly for those unable to return to work right away.
That’s where we come in.
