Tacoma, WA - Car Accident with Injuries on I-5 near Bridgeport Way

Tacoma, WA (May 16, 2025) - On the evening of Friday, May 16, a traffic collision occurred on southbound Interstate 5 at milepost 125.86 near Bridgeport Way SW in Tacoma, Washington. The incident was reported around 3:59 p.m., leading to the blockage of the right lane on the southbound on-ramp to I-5 from Bridgeport Way. 

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Tacoma division provided updates on the situation, indicating that the collision caused significant traffic disruptions in the area. As of 7:23 p.m., the scene was cleared, and normal traffic flow resumed.

Paramedics worked at the scene to help those involved and transport injured patients to local hospitals for treatment. At this time, the extent of the injuries suffered in the crash has not been reported. The Washington State Patrol is investigating to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
