Grant Co., WA (June 16, 2025) – A chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles sent one man to the hospital Friday afternoon on State Route 17, just south of Moses Lake.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision occurred on June 13, around 5:20 p.m., when a southbound sedan driven by 17-year-old Gideon E. Tuller, for reasons still being investigated by law enforcement, struck the rear of another sedan driven by 72-year-old Serafin Corona of Warden. The impact pushed Corona’s vehicle into the back of a station wagon ahead, driven by 60-year-old Silvino S. Hernandez.
Corona sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. A passenger in Hernandez’s vehicle, 58-year-old Angela Hernandez-Espinoza, was also taken to the hospital as a precaution. No other injuries were reported among the six individuals involved.
Troopers determined that Tuller was following too closely and did not slow down in time when the two vehicles ahead reduced speed to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was cited for his role in causing the collision.
We hope the wounded individuals make a swift recovery.
