Ephrata, WA (August 4, 2025) — An early morning crash in Grant County left two individuals injured in what authorities believe was a DUI-related incident.
The Washington State Patrol reported that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Highway 28 when it veered off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. The crash occurred on August 4, around 3:30 a.m., approximately one mile south of Ephrata.
Both occupants of the vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials confirmed that both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The driver is now facing charges of vehicular assault and driving under the influence. Investigators say impairment and possibly falling asleep at the wheel contributed to the wreck. The incident remains under investigation.
We wish those hurt a swift recovery.
