Grandview, WA - DUI Crash on I-82 Sends Two to Hospital

Grandview, WA (June 24, 2025) – A suspected DUI crash on Interstate 82 sent two men to the hospital on June 21 and has resulted in serious charges against one of the drivers, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP). The collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. near milepost 76, approximately one mile east of Grandview.

Authorities say the crash happened when a white Toyota Camry, traveling eastbound, veered off the roadway and struck a parked gray Ford F-150 that was on the shoulder. The driver of the Ford, a 34-year-old man from San Angelo, Texas, was outside his vehicle at the time, attempting to re-secure a trailer. He was struck during the impact and sustained injuries. Emergency responders transported him to Kadlec Medical Center for treatment.

The Toyota, which rolled over after the collision, was being driven by a 31-year-old man from Prosser, Washington. He also sustained injuries and was transported to Prosser Memorial Hospital. The WSP later confirmed that he is facing charges of DUI and vehicular assault.

The collision remains under investigation, and further details may be released as officials continue to gather evidence.

Our thoughts are with both injured individuals, and we hope for their full recovery.

Washington Car Accidents

Grandview, WA - DUI Crash on I-82 Sends Two to HospitalMotor vehicle crashes remain one of the most common causes of serious injury and death across the United States. In 2022, data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed that more than 40,000 lives were lost in traffic accidents nationwide. Tragically, many of these fatalities were linked to avoidable behaviors such as driving under the influence, distracted driving, excessive speed, and failure to use seatbelts. Impaired driving continues to be a major contributor, accounting for nearly one-third of all fatal accidents.

Washington State is no exception to this troubling trend. In 2023, traffic-related deaths in the state climbed past 800—a 10% increase from the previous year. The city of Tacoma, with its busy roads and high traffic volume, has seen its share of devastating collisions, particularly along major routes like Interstate 5, State Route 7, and SR 512. With driver negligence playing a role in more than 90% of accidents, the threat to public safety is significant.

If you or someone you love has been injured in a Tacoma-area crash, it’s crucial to identify the cause of the accident and understand your legal options. When another driver’s careless or reckless actions result in harm, you may be entitled to pursue compensation for your injuries, lost income, pain and suffering, and other damages.
