Lacey, WA - 11 Injured in Collision on College St

Lacey, WA (June 8, 2025) — A high-speed police pursuit ended in a violent multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon, June 7, leaving 11 people injured and a 19-year-old Tacoma man in custody for vehicular assault, according to the Lacey Police Department.

The incident began around 3:18 p.m. when an officer attempted to stop a 2014 Dodge Charger reportedly driving recklessly along College Street Southeast. Instead of pulling over, the driver allegedly fled, accelerating near the intersection of 14th Avenue Southeast and Ruddell Road Southeast.

During the brief chase, the fleeing driver crashed into four other vehicles, injuring 11 individuals, five of whom were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The Dodge Charger burst into flames following the impact, but all occupants managed to escape the burning vehicle without assistance.

Emergency crews shut down the crash scene for more than three hours while they provided aid and cleared the wreckage.

The teen driver was arrested at the scene and is expected to be booked into Thurston County Jail on vehicular assault charges, police confirmed. The investigation remains ongoing.

We hope for the full recovery of the injured victims.
