Monroe, WA (May 30, 2025) - Traffic on westbound US 2 came to a halt Thursday afternoon, May 29, following a multi-vehicle collision near Farm Road and milepost 11.
According to the Washington State Patrol, several vehicles were involved in the crash, and at least one person sustained injuries as a result.
Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, prompting a temporary closure of all westbound lanes to allow for cleanup and investigation. By 4:45 p.m., authorities confirmed that the roadway had been fully reopened to traffic. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
We hope for the full recovery of the injured victims.
Car accidents remain a serious concern across Washington, and the community of Monroe is no exception. Each year, thousands of people across the state suffer injuries in crashes—many of which leave lasting physical, emotional, and financial impacts. Whether on busy stretches of U.S. Route 2 or quieter local roads, Monroe sees its share of injury-related collisions.

Behaviors such as speeding, distracted driving, impairment, and failure to follow traffic signals are all too frequent, and they often lead to devastating results. Monroe's mix of rural roadways and commuter traffic creates a dangerous environment where both high-speed crashes and congestion-related collisions can occur.
