Orting, WA (April 28, 2025) - Police in Orting say a motorcyclist lost his life in a fatal crash over the weekend. Reports show the motorcyclist was traveling west on State Route 162, near Ski Lake, when he was involved in a collision with a Chevy Silverado. The motorcycle then struck a Dodge Ram in the eastbound lanes. The Chevy overturned into a ditch while the Dodge struck a nearby phone poll.
The motorcyclist ended up on the shoulder of the roadway. He was transported to Tacoma General Hospital, where he later died due to the extent of his injuries. The other two drivers were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where they were treated for injuries they sustained in the crash. The roadway was blocked for approximately four hours while responders worked in the area. Police in Orting continue to investigate.
