Pullman, WA (August 29, 2025) - Washington State Patrol has confirmed that the collision that blocked Highway 195 between Pullman and Colfax on August 29 eventually resulted in a fatality.
Highway 195 remained shut down for a while following the serious crash, and the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office posted an alert once the roadway had been reopened.
Authorities urged drivers to anticipate significant delays and to give space for emergency responders working in the area.
Traffic was redirected: Pullman Police advised northbound motorists to take State Route 27 through Palouse, while those traveling southbound were routed toward Colfax via State Route 272.
More information will be released as it becomes available. Law enforcement is investigating the incident.
