Pedestrian-involved accidents in Washington have shown concerning trends in recent years. In 2022, the state saw 136 pedestrian fatalities, a significant rise from 103 in 2018, reflecting an increase of about 32%. While severe injuries remain generally stable, with 408 reported in 2022 compared to 400 in 2018, the overall trend remains troubling.
Across the nation, over 7,500 pedestrians lose their lives annually in accidents, highlighting the risk pedestrians face every day. Pedestrians are among the most vulnerable road users, unprotected against the force of fast-moving vehicles, which makes them highly susceptible to life-altering injuries.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a pedestrian accident, it can be an overwhelming experience. Severe injuries can result in substantial medical costs and long-term recovery. If a negligent driver caused your accident, working with a personal injury lawyer can help you recover financially. Filing a personal injury claim can provide compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, vehicle repair costs, and more, allowing you to focus on your recovery.
