Seattle, WA (May 8, 2025) -The Seattle Police Department investigated a deadly car accident that took place Monday morning in downtown Seattle, prompting officials to reroute traffic.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Fourth Avenue South and South Spokane Street. An 83-year-old woman had been walking west through the crosswalk when an SUV turned right from Fourth Avenue onto Spokane Street and struck her. The driver failed to stop and fled the scene. When officers arrived, they discovered her body in the roadway. As of the time of reporting, the driver had not yet been located.
Detectives from SPD’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) were present at the scene, gathering evidence.
