Seattle, WA (June 4, 2025) — A serious pedestrian collision sent a 6-year-old girl to the hospital in critical condition Sunday after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing Rainier Avenue South at South Charles Street.

The crash occurred around 11:50 a.m. in a marked crosswalk. According to initial findings from the Seattle Police Department, the child was walking alongside her mother when a northbound driver failed to stop for a red light and struck the girl, launching her several feet across the intersection.
