Car accidents continue to be a major source of injury across Washington State, leaving thousands of individuals and families grappling with physical, emotional, and financial hardship each year. From dense urban areas like Tacoma and Seattle to rural stretches of highway, serious crashes occur daily—often with life-changing consequences.
In 2023 alone, thousands of Washington residents were injured in traffic collisions. These incidents range from rear-end crashes and intersection accidents to high-speed highway wrecks. Many result in long-term injuries that disrupt daily life, limit mobility, and place a heavy financial burden on victims and their loved ones.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 90% of all traffic accidents in the U.S. are tied to human error. Whether it’s texting while driving, operating a vehicle under the influence, ignoring traffic signals, or driving while fatigued, these avoidable behaviors often result in serious harm.
Major roadways like I-5, State Route 16, and Pacific Avenue in Tacoma are common sites for injury collisions due to high volumes of traffic, complex interchanges, and variable weather conditions. A single moment of inattention on these roads can lead to devastating consequences.
