Tacoma, WA - Major Car Accident on SR-16 near 24th St

Tacoma, WA (June 30, 2025) – A traffic collision on westbound State Route 16 near milepost 8.87 has partially blocked the off-ramp to 24th Street NW, according to transportation officials.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:17 p.m. on Monday evening, June 30, and affected traffic in the area for some time. The Washington State Department of Transportation has not yet provided an estimated time for full clearance.

At least one person suffered injuries in the accident. Paramedics worked at the scene to help those involved and transport seriously injured patients to local hospitals by ambulance.

Drivers were advised to use caution when approaching the area and to consider alternate routes to avoid delays. No information has been released regarding the total number of injuries or the number of vehicles involved. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collision.
