Washington Auto Accidents

Tacoma, WA - SR-7 Scene of Injury Wreck near 38th StCar accidents remain one of the most devastating and preventable causes of injury and death across the United States. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), more than 40,000 lives were lost in vehicle crashes nationwide in 2022. A large portion of these fatal incidents involved reckless behavior, such as drunk driving, distracted driving, speeding, and failure to wear seatbelts. In fact, impaired driving alone accounts for nearly a third of all traffic-related deaths every year.

Washington State has not been spared from this alarming trend. In 2023, the state recorded over 800 traffic fatalities—a 10% increase compared to the previous year. As a major population hub, Tacoma continues to see a high volume of serious crashes, particularly on roadways like I-5, SR 7, SR 16, and throughout Pierce County. National statistics reveal that over 94% of crashes are linked to human error, and alcohol-related collisions continue to take a devastating toll on local families.
