Thurston Co., WA - Two-Car Crash on US 101 at Oyster Bay

Thurston Co., WA (January 28, 2025) - A woman from Olympia suffered injuries in a traffic accident in Thurston County on Tuesday, January 28. Reports from authorities show the incident occurred on US 101 between Oyster Bay and Eld Inlet when two vehicles collided. A blue Chevy pickup truck was headed south behind the woman’s blue Mazda utility vehicle when the Chevy driver rear-ended the Mazda. The woman was attempting to turn left onto Holiday Valley Drive at the time of the crash. The Mazda was pushed across northbound US 101 and the vehicle stopped on the right shoulder. The Chevy came to rest in the median.

The woman, age 64, of Olympia, was transported to MultiCare Capital Medical Center to receive treatment for injuries she sustained in the accident. The driver of the truck sustained no injuries and is suspected of driving under the influence. The highway was partially closed for over an hour while responders worked at the scene. Police in Thurston continue to investigate the incident.
