Auto accidents are a leading cause of injuries and fatalities in the United States. Every hour, over 500 accidents happen in the US, about 25% of which end in injuries. In Washington, tens of thousands of people are hurt per year in traffic accidents, while hundreds end up losing their lives. In the past decade, driver negligence has become a common problem on American roadways, causing over 90% of reported traffic accidents.
When semi-trucks become involved in traffic accidents, severe injuries often follow. Approximately 30% of semi-truck collisions in the US end in injuries for at least one person involved. In 2022, approximately 72,000 people suffered injuries in traffic accidents involving tractor-trailers in the US. Approximately 3% of these wrecks ended in death. Because semi-trucks are approximately 20 to 30 times larger than passenger vehicles, individuals who become involved in crashes with them often end up suffering severe or even fatal injuries.
Being injured in a semi-truck crash can be an overwhelming and even devastating experience. You may end up in the hospital, where you must undergo invasive medical care that can cost your family a fortune. On top of facing financial strain and painful injuries, the emotional trauma following such an event can feel unmanageable. Common damages that often follow serious semi-truck accidents include outstanding medical care costs, vehicle repair expenses, lost wages, pain, suffering, and emotional turmoil.
