Thurston Co., WA (March 16, 2025) - A wrong-way collision on Interstate 5 left three people dead on Sunday, March 16. Information provided by the Washington State Patrol shows the incident occurred on I-5 near the Scatter Creek Rest Area. A wrong-way vehicle reportedly struck another car head-on.
The victims were identified as one man and two women whose names have not been reported at this time. Following the initial crash, both vehicles blocked the road, leading to a third collision. Authorities said the driver of the third vehicle did not sustain any injuries. Officials with the Washington State Police, along with members of the Washington State Department of Transportation, responded to the scene. Northbound lanes of I-5 were blocked for hours while responders worked in the area. Police urged drivers headed north to use caution in the area.
