Our thoughts are with those involved. We hope for their full recovery.
In the United States, car accidents are a leading cause of injury and death among individuals. Approximately 570 collisions are reported per hour across the country, around 25% of which result in injuries. Each year, more than 3 million people are hurt in auto collisions throughout the nation. In Washington specifically, tens of thousands of people are hurt in collisions annually, while hundreds end up losing their lives.

Unfortunately, over 94% of reported auto accidents are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. According to information provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, distracted driving is the leading cause of auto accidents in the United States, causing over 400,000 collisions per year. Other common forms of driver negligence that often lead to car wrecks include intoxication, speeding, and fatigue.
Semi-truck accidents are some of the most severe collisions that occur on American roadways. Over 30% of semi-truck crashes end in injuries. In 2022, approximately 72,000 people were injured in traffic accidents involving semi-trucks in the US. Approximately 3% of these collisions ended in fatalities. Because tractor-trailers are around 20 to 30 times heavier than passenger vehicles, those who become involved in collisions with these large vehicles often suffer injuries or worse.
Being hurt in a crash with a semi is a difficult and draining experience that can land you in the hospital with painful injuries. In addition to suffering physically, you may also be dealing with emotional turmoil and financial burdens. Outstanding medical bills, vehicle repairs, wage loss, and more may result from a serious car accident.
