Car accidents are an unfortunate reality both across the United States and here in Washington State. Nationwide, nearly 570 crashes are reported every hour—about one in four of which results in injuries. Each year, more than 3 million people are hurt in auto accidents across the country. In Washington alone, tens of thousands of residents are injured annually, and hundreds tragically lose their lives.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), driver negligence plays a role in roughly 94% of traffic accidents in the U.S. Among the most common causes is distracted driving, which contributes to over 400,000 crashes each year. Other major risk factors include impaired driving, excessive speed, and fatigue—dangerous behaviors that continue to take a toll on innocent lives.
