Vancouver, WA - Woman Loses Life in Two-Car Crash on Hwy 99

Vancouver, WA (March 30, 2025) - A woman from Vancouver lost her life in a two-car accident at an intersection on Northeast Highway 99. Police say the accident happened on Thursday afternoon, March 27, when two vehicles collided under circumstances still being investigated. One driver attempted to flee the scene after the collision but was stopped by several bystanders shortly after the incident.

Authorities arrived at the scene at approximately 1:00 p.m. along with other first responders and a Clark Public Utilities Crew. Kimberly Butler, 56, was found unresponsive at the scene. She was later pronounced deceased at the hospital due to the nature of her injuries. Police in Vancouver continue to investigate the details of the accident. The driver who attempted to flee was arrested on charges including hit-and-run resulting in death and vehicular homicide.
